英语读写
The course introduces the learners comprehensive English language knowledge, including phonetics, grammar, vocabulary, text organization, language functions and notions. The course improves the learners’ reading, listening, speaking, writing, translating and interpreting abilities. It also cultivates the learners’ communicative abilities, study habits and logic thought, laying a solid foundation for the learners to learn advanced English. By the end of the course, learners will reach the level of Test for English Major Band 4.
英语读写是大学学生必修的一门公共基础课，是高等教育课程的一个重要组成部分。大学英语的教学目标在于培养学生的英语综合应用能力，特别是读写能力，使学习者能以英语为工具有效地进行书面的交流；同时增强其自主学习能力，提高综合文化素养，以适应我国社会经济发展和国际文化交流的需要
英语听说
The course provides the learners with various audio and visual materials, including broadcasting and television programs. Through listening practices, the learners are supposed to comprehend authentic audio and visual materials，such as the English spoken by the English-spoken people with different pronunciation in general situations. The learners are also supposed to understand the global meaning, grasp the major points and work out the speaker’s attitude, feelings and the real intention, as well as make brief notes in English.
“英语听说”是依据高教部颁发的《大学英语课程教学要求》中提出的培养学生的英语综合能力, 特别是听说能力的教学目标，及社会对大学生英语应用能力要求不断提高的形势下, 面向全校非英语专业大学本科生开设的一门公共必修课。使学生在今后工作和社会交往中能用英语有效地进行口头和书面的信息交流，以适应我国社会发展和国际交流的需要。该课程分为英语听力和口语两部分。
